Since making his Barcelona debut at the tail end of last season against Real Betis, the records have continued to tumble for youngster Lamine Yamal.

The 16-year-old, who recently set a new record as Spain's youngest debutant and goalscorer, looks on course to further imprint his name in the record books as he is in line for his first start on club football's biggest stage, the UEFA Champions League.

With Barcelona kicking off their campaign against Belgian Champions Royal Antwerp, Sports Brief looks at four records Lamine Yamal could set if he features in tonight's encounter.

Barcelona youngest UCL debutant

Lamine who has seen his prominence in Xavi Hernandez's plan grow astronomically in the past five months, looks certain to feature in tonight's meeting against Marc Van Bommel's side.

In any instance, the 16-year-old makes his competition debut, Lamine will become the youngest player to feature for the Catalan club in the competition, at 16 years and two months, overtaking record holder Ansu Fati who debuted at 16 years and ten months, according to reports from 90mins.

Second youngest UCL debutant in history

Lamine could also etch his name deeper into the UCL history books as his potential debut tonight would see him climb up the ladder to become the second all-time debutant in the competition's history, going past Nigeria's Celestine Babayaro, 16 years and 68 days and only behind Borussia Dortmund's Youssouffa Moukoko 16 years and 18 days.

Barcelona's youngest UCL goalscorer

Lamine who has shown his prowess in front of goal in Spain's 7-1 victory away at Georgia in any instance he finds the back of the net today, could become the La Liga club's youngest goal scorer in the UCL, a record currently held by Brighton and Hove Albion's Ansu Fati according to data courtesy UEFA.com.

UEFA Champions League's youngest-ever goalscorer

A goal for Lamine tonight would also see him take the record for the youngest-ever player to score in the Champions League, a record currently held by former teammate Fati.

Given the talent posed by the Barcelona prodigy, one can hardly look past Lamine attaining these feats when the referee Radu Petrescu blasts the whistle for kickoff this evening.

Lamine Yamal makes Barcelona history

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Yamal becoming Barcelona's youngest debutant in La Liga at the age of 15 years, nine months and 16 days.

Manager Xavi Hernandez handed The teenage sensation his debut for the Catalans in the game against Real Betis at Camp Nou.

Yamal replaced Gavi with seven minutes remaining and already has many talking, with some declaring the teen has a bright football future.
