FootballFederico Valverde Says He Could Leave Real Madrid for Bizarre Reason
- Federico Valverde is an important player for Real Madrid
- However, he says if his ability drops at the club, he will find another option, and possibly an exit
- He scored a stunning goal in Madrid's latest win in La Liga
Federico Valverde has said if his levels drop at Real Madrid, he will find other options. The midfielder has been a reliable option for the club in the last few years.
On Sunday, he scored a spectacular equalizer for Madrid against Real Sociedad, a game they narrowly won 2-1 to extend their perfect start to the 2023/24 season.
The Uruguayan has played for Madrid since the 2018/19 season and has played a vital role in their successes, especially in the Champions League.
So far, the 25-year-old has made 209 appearances for Madrid and scored 19 goals. He has won a Champions League title and two La Liga crowns, per Transfermarkt.
With Luka Modric and Toni Kroos declining, Valverde is expected to form the next-generation midfielder alongside Aurélien Tchouaméni, Eduardo Camavinga, and Jude Bellingham.
Valverde's bizarre admission
Speaking after the Real Sociedad encounter, Valverde said that he is doing great at the moment, but if and when he feels he is not good enough, he will find a "solution".
“I have the ability to be a player for this club. The day I don’t feel that way, or that Madrid doesn’t feel that way, we will look for a solution. Today I feel good,” he said, via Football Espana.
Valverde's importance to the side has seen veterans like Kroos and Modric take a lesser role in the team.
“I feel a little bad for them. Players of this caliber who have won so many things. I wish we could play with 15 players. But the important thing is that whomever gets to play feels the support from those who aren’t, like I’m feeling now.”

FootballValverde is versatile, meaning that there should always be a place for him in Carlo Ancelotti's team.
