Mason Greenwood made the headlines when he completed a surprise transfer from Manchester United to La Liga club Getafe.
The 22-year-old forward, who has been out of football since January 2022, appeared to be facing an impending end to his blistering career following a press release from Man United stating that the forward would no longer play for the Premier League club.

Bordalas credits Bellingham for Greenwood transfer
Speaking to Radio Marca ahead of his side's game against Osasuna, the 55-year-old manager highlighted how the club got the signing of Greenwood over the line.
"It was a surprise. We never thought we could get a player like that," Bordalas told RadioMarca.
"But they got in touch with our sporting director (Ruben Reyes), we talked, we didn't think it could happen but both sides made an effort [financially]."
Further highlighting the influence of the Real Madrid man, he said:
"Greenwood is friends with Bellingham, and he advised him to come to the Spanish league."
Having fully integrated Greenwood into his side through the course of the international break, Bordalas will hope that he can count on the young forward in their home tie against Osasuna. Greenwood recently broke a club record, as reported by Caught Offside.
