FootballPogba: Juve Reportedly Want Arsenal Star To Replace Midfielder After Doping Saga
- Paul Pogba is facing a lengthy football ban after allegedly testing positive for a banned substance
- Juventus have since suspended the French midfielder, who is awaiting further directions
- If found guilty, Pogba could be handed a ban of between two and four years
Serie A giants Juventus have seemingly embarked on a plan to find a replacement for Paul Pogba if the Frenchman's contract is terminated.
Pogba has endured a disastrous second spell with Juve since rejoining the Italian club last summer following his Manchester United departure.
A string of injuries have taken a huge toll on the World Cup winner, and he has since been suspended after he allegedly tested positive for a banned substance.
According to Sportbible, the former Man United ace returned a positive result after a random test after Juve's 3-0 win over Udinese back in August.
It is understood that the France international will be tried by the National Anti-Doping Tribunal if a second test sample is checked and returns a positive result.
Should he be found guilty, Pogba could be handed a ban of between two and four years.
Juve hunting for Pogba replacement
Juventus are now seemingly preparing for life without Pogba, with reports claiming the Italian club have set their sights on finding a replacement.
Italian outlet La Repubblica (via Get Football News Italy) reports that the Old Lady are considering Thomas Partey as one of their options should they need to replace Pogba.
Juve are said to view the Ghana international as the perfect replacement for the Frenchman.
Partey was linked with a move to Turin in the summer, but the move did not materialise.
Longest bans in football's history
The French star now faces a ban of up to four years if found guilty of the offence. Such bans, though rare in football, have happened in the past.
