Dani Carvajal has named three Real Madrid players who have inspired him in his career at the Spanish club. Carvajal included Cristiano Ronaldo, an obvious name that is considered Real Madrid's greatest-ever player.

The right-back has been a key player for the Los Blancos in the last few years, helping them return to the top of European football after years in the wilderness.

While on duty with the Spanish national team, the defender was asked which Real Madrid player across his career at the Santiago Bernabeu had a lasting impact on him. The 31-year-old named players who are now regarded as icons at the club.

"Cristiano [Ronaldo], Sergio Ramos and Luka Modric. They are people who talk to you and you have to be conscious of all of your five senses, they talk to you and you have to take notes," he said.

Carvajal explained the commitment he saw from Modric, who recently turned 38.

"You see them arriving at 6 in the morning and starting to train...it's brutal. Luka, on top of that, has been able to take such a small country to a World Cup final," via 90min.

The defender came through Real Madrid's academy and has gone on to make 379 appearances and win plenty of trophies, including five Champions Leagues. When he eventually hangs up his boots, there's no doubt, that he too will be considered Real Madrid great, having achieved so much with the team.

Modric, Ramos and Ronaldo impact

Those three played vital roles for Madrid in their recent dominant period, where they won five Champions Leagues in nine seasons, including three in a row from 2016 to 2018.

Ronaldo left the club in 2018 as their all-time top goal scorer with 450 goals. He achieved that feat in just 438 games, a milestone that makes him arguably the greatest footballer ever. He won four Ballon d'Or's while at the club, per Transfermarkt.

Ramos also left the club in 2021 to join Paris Saint-Germain. He made 671 appearances for the club and scored 101 goals. He won five La Liga titles and four Champions Leagues in 16 years at the club and is regarded as one of the best defenders of all time.

Modric is still at the club after signing a one-year deal this summer. He won three La Liga titles and the Champions League five times since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012. He won the Ballon d'Or in 2018 after leading Croatia to the World Cup final.

Ronaldo sets new goal-scoring record

Sports Brief also reported on Ronaldo clinching another prestigious world record, solidifying his status as the all-time leading goal-scorer in national leagues.

His remarkable tally of 517 goals saw him surpass the previous record held by the legendary Austrian-Czech, Josef Bican and Real Madrid icon, Ferenc Puskás.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo's eternal rival and fellow contender for the title of GOAT, Lionel Messi lagged behind in a 'distant' fourth place with 'only' 496 goals.
