- Djokovic defeated Russia's Daniil Medvedev in the final of the 2023 US Open on Sunday
Novak Djokovic has a dream five-a-side football team that he wishes to play in when he is not winning Grand Slam titles on the tennis court.
The Serbian, who is a huge football fan, won his 24th Grand Slam title on September 10, defeating Daniil Medvedev in the final of the 2023 US Open to become the man with the most majors in tennis.
According to Sportskeeda, Djokovic named some iconic names, including Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, when asked about the football stars he would love to team up with for a match.
"Wow, that's a tough one. I got to pick more than one. [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic is a dear friend of mine, so I'd love to play with him and obviously Messi, Ronaldo, and from the older guys, [Gabriel] Batistuta."
It is worth noting that the Serbian ace only mentioned four names, perhaps leaving the other to the imagination.
Djokovic was recently pictured with Messi in the United States when two of the greatest sports stars ever seen came together in New York before Inter Miami’s MLS game against the New York Red Bulls.

The mercurial Argentine star has been lighting it up for Inter Miami since he moved to Major League Soccer after bringing an end to his two-year spell at Paris Saint-Germain.
Messi has helped the statistically worst team in the American top flight league become the winners of the inaugural Leagues Cup, beating Nashville SC on penalties in the final.
