FootballTearful Antony Makes TV Appearance to Deny Assault Allegations: “The Truth Will Come Out”
- Manchester United winger Antony has denied all allegations of assault against him
- The Brazilian was alleged by his ex-girlfriend of physically assaulting her
- Two more women have come forward with similar accusations against him
Manchester United star Antony has denied all accusations of physical assault levied against him by his ex-girlfriend and two other women.
The Brazilian made an £86mil move to England from Ajax to reunite with former head coach Erik ten Hag, who took over the permanent role at Old Trafford.
He has been under criticism for his performances, which does not justify the hefty price the club paid to bring him to the club despite multiple opportunities and minutes.
Antony faces a serious allegation that could see him go down in line with past United players accused of physical abuse and assault to their partners.
Antony denied abuse allegations
Goal reported that Antony's ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavalin alleged that the 22-year-old attacked him out of jealousy while she was pregnant and shared pictorial evidence on Instagram.
Manchester United confirmed that the case has been lodged with Greater Manchester police, and an enquiry is ongoing, pending which they'll make no further statement.
He was dropped from Brazil's national team squad, and when asked if his club could drop him, he told Brazilian TV show Fofocalizando via talkSPORT that he's not thinking about that.
"It's something that doesn't cross my mind. I know the truth, and it will show up. I know there are a lot of people butchering me, but the truth comes out," he said.
The Red Devils have refused to comment on whether he will be dropped from the squad while an investigation is ongoing, but The Guardian reports that the club are under pressure to take the decision after it was alleged that they were aware of the incident.

Ingrid Lana, a banker and Rayssa de Freitas, a law student, have come forward to claim the former Ajax star got violent with them at some point in the past.
