Legendary Ghanaian footballer, Asamoah Gyan met UK-based boxer, Freezy Macbones, for the first time following his return home.
The boxer, known in real life as Seth Gyimah, arrived in Ghana to join the Black Bombers for the upcoming qualifiers for next year's Olympic Games.
Freezy Macbones has been in England for the past eleven years, where he started his boxing career after travelling to seek greener pastures.
In a video shared on social media, the boxer and Gyan had to be separated by friends following a heartwarming and friendly clash.
Macbones had the opportunity to represent the UK but decided to fight for his country of birth, Ghana.
"Growing up, I looked up to athletes who represented their homeland with pride,” he said, as quoted by Pulse.
“Choosing Ghana is my way of giving back and showing the younger generation that they can achieve their dreams, no matter where they come from.”
Meanwhile, Gyan returned to Ghana this week after participating in the draw for the African Super League.
"The competition is a very important competition for African football," he said. "It will boost players playing at the local level to be more competitive out there. Sometimes people don't believe they can compete outside when they play locally," he added.
"This competition is no joke, it talks about champions who are ready to battle each other. It will show them whether they can compete out there. This competition is very important for African football."
Freezy Macbones and the Black Bombers team will travel to Senegal for the Olympic Games qualifiers.
