Reports from Sports Manor suggest the La Liga powerhouse invested over £1 billion in this ambitious stadium overhaul - money that appears well worth it.

Recently, Real Madrid delighted fans by sharing a video showcasing the revamped stadium and also highlighting some of its distinctive new features.

Real Madrid releases new Bernabeu video

Following their hosting of Getafe in their inaugural home game of the season, the club unveiled a video showcasing the innovative grass installation system at the ground.

In a fascinating display from the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, the new turf is placed in a tray-like contraption before being seamlessly retracted underground.

The technology behind this system is also found at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London and represents one of the many cutting-edge additions clubs are now exploring to enhance their stadiums.

This distinctive feature of the new Los Blancos arena has sparked a flurry of reactions online, with Manchester United legend, Gary Neville tweeting, "That's how to do it."

This advancement in pitch transformation should also open up new revenue streams for Real Madrid by enabling the hosting of various sports events, including boxing bouts and NFL matches.

As per a report by Diario AS, the remodelled stadium - though still a work in progress - is expected to generate an annual revenue exceeding £1 billion for the Spanish giants upon completion.

Madrid close Bernabeu roof for the first time

Sports Brief previously highlighted the spectacular atmosphere witnessed by many as Real Madrid closed the newly installed roof of the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium for the first time.

Following the torrential rain forecast in the capital of Madrid, the Spanish giants opted to keep the stadium top closed as they raced to a spectacular 2-1 victory over city rivals, Getafe.

The importance of the newly-fitted roof was echoed across Spain after Atletico Madrid had their round 4 La Liga fixture against Sevilla postponed due to the rainy weather conditions.
