FootballPitso Mosimane Breaks Silence Over Rumoured Reunion With Sundowns Star Gaston Sirino
- Pitso Mosimane breaks silence concerning the reports linking Gaston Sirino to Al Wahda
- The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach addressed the issue publicly during an event in South Africa
- The Uruguayan-born winger has already handed in a transfer request
South African manager Pitso Mosimane has reacted to the recent reports linking his club Al Wahda to Mamelodi Sundowns winger Gaston Sirino.
Mosimane who signed Sirino for the Brazilians during his time at the club in 2018, was not happy with being asked about the rumours linking the Uruguayan-born South African player with his new club in the UAE Pro League.
The former Al Ahly coach was present at the handover of the multipurpose sports court at Lofentse Girls High School in Orlando East, Soweto. The project was officially named after him.
According to Soccer Laduma, Mosimane publicly addressed the rumour linking the Sundowns star to Al Wahda at the event. He told journalists:
“I don’t want to talk about Gaston Sirino, because this annoys me so much!
“If we want Gaston Sirino we go to Mamelodi Sundowns. There’s been rumours and rumours and there’s been a lot of talk. Does Sundowns want to sell Sirino? I don’t know. Sundowns doesn’t need money to sell Sirino, so sometimes these things are a lost cause.”
Sirino could be available in the market, as he reportedly handed a transfer request to Sundowns despite having two years left on his contract. This would be the second time he has done such since joining the Brazilians in 2018.
Mosimane went further to explain the situation that occurred when he was interested in signing the winger during his time with Al Ahly. He added:
"When I was at Al Ahly, I wanted Sirino and you know what happened. We approached them, and we never got the price, you never get the price.

The Al Wahda coach also stated that he would never advise his current team to go for Sirino, and that if Sundowns doesn't want him, they mustn't use him to get rid of the player.
