Nine players are set to represent Inter Miami on the international stage this month, including Argentina captain, Lionel Messi.

With that number of representatives, the Herons are the MLS club with the most international call-ups for the international break this month.

Sports Brief looks at the Inter Miami players who have been called up for international duty this September.

Lionel Messi (Argentina)

Messi will be back on World Cup duty this week when Argentina start their title defense in South America qualifying.

The 36-year-old will lead La Albiceleste in their World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador on September 7 and Bolivia on September 12.

Josef Martinez (Venezuela)

Venezuela has called up Martinez to play in their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Colombia on September 7 and Paraguay on September 12.

The forward has scored six goals in 21 league games for Inter Miami this season.

Diego Gomez (Paraguay)

Paraguay has called up Gomez to play in their upcoming World Cup qualifying matches against Peru on September 7 and Venezuela on September 12.

The midfielder has scored one goal in three league games for Inter Miami this season.

Robert Taylor (Finland)

Finland has called up Taylor to play in their upcoming UEFA Euro qualifiers against Kazakhstan on September 7 and Denmark on September 10.

The midfielder has recorded two goals and five assists in 21 league games for Inter Miami this season. He netted a total of five goals in the 2023 Leagues Cup, per AS.

Sergii Kryvtsov (Ukraine)

Ukraine has called up Kryvtsov to play in their upcoming UEFA Euro qualifying matches against England on September 9 and Italy on September 12.

The defender has scored one goal in 20 league games for Inter Miami this season.

David Ruiz (Honduras)

Honduras has called up Ruiz to play in their upcoming CONCACAF Nations League matches against Jamaica on September 8 and Grenada on September 12.

He has scored one goal in 14 league games for Inter Miami this season.

Edison Azcona (Dominican Republic)

The Dominican Republic has called up Azcona to play in their upcoming CONCACAF Nations League matches against Nicaragua on September 8 and Montserrat on September 11.

Drake Callender and Benjamin Cremaschi (USA)

The United States has called up Callender and Cremaschi to play in their upcoming friendly matches against Uzbekistan on September 9 and Oman on September 12.

Cremaschi has scored one goal in 21 MLS matches for Inter Miami this season.

Callender has played in 25 league games for the Herons this campaign, starting in all of them.

Messi to miss an MLS game

Sports Brief recently reported on Messi's Inter Miami absence due to international duties.

As a result, he will miss the Herons' match against Sporting Kansas City on September 9.

Messi is expected to return for Inter Miami's clash against Atlanta United on September 16.
