According to The Mirror, Premier League clubs spent a whopping £2.26 billion on new players, with Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo among the most expensive signings.

The Gunners splashed out an eye-watering £105mil to land Rice from West Ham United, while the Blues had to fork out £115mil to sign Caicedo from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Be that as it may, there may be some bargains out there that clubs could capitalise on despite the window closing.

Sports Brief takes a look at the top 10 players who currently do not have a club.

1. David de Gea

The veteran Spanish goalkeeper is yet to find a new home weeks after he departed Manchester United. De Gea's illustrious 11-year career with the Red Devils came to an end at the close of last season.

2. Danny Rose

The former Tottenham left-back is currently without a club after Watford terminated his contract. While he has since transitioned into punditry, he has yet to retire officially. Rose recently hinted he is open to a return, per the Mirror.

3. Jerome Boateng

The Bayern Munich legend is yet to find a new club after he departed Lyon earlier in the summer.

4. Phil Jones

The former Manchester United defender finally left Old Trafford this summer after the expiration of his contract. However, he has not found a new club yet.

5. Axel Tuanzebe

Tuanzebe is one of the other former Man United stars without a club. The defender has been linked with a move to Ipswich Town.

6. Jesse Lingard

Lingard was initially linked with a move to the MLS with DC United. However, the transfer fell through, leaving the Englishman hunting for a new club.

7. Eden Hazard

The Chelsea legend was recently said to be considering retiring from football aged just 32.

The Belgian international is without a club following his departure from Real Madrid at the end of last season. Hazard's deal with Los Blancos was terminated following a disastrous spell with the La Liga side.

Most expensive EPL transfers this summer

The summer transfer window saw all the 20 EPL teams seal some decent transfers in a bid to strengthen their squads in preparation for the new season.

As Sports Brief reported, Rice's sensational £105m move to Arsenal from West Ham United had initially seen him hold a record before Caicedo shattered it.
