Jesus’ late goal seals win

The former England international was full of plaudits for Jesus on X, writing:

“Superb finish from Jesus. Brilliant!”

Jesus scored on a brilliant counter-attack to claim all three points for the Gunners.

Fabio Vieira burst down the left flank for Arsenal before slipping the ball to Jesus just past the halfway line.

Jesus showed tremendous composure as he ran all the way into the penalty area, calmly sitting Diego Dalot down with a fake shot attempt before applying a superb side-footed finish past United goalkeeper Andre Onana to make it 3-1 for Arsenal.

Jesus’ goal came just minutes after midfielder Declan Rice gave Arsenal the lead with a solid strike in the 96th minute, per The Guardian.

The former West Ham star’s shot attempt took a wicked deflection off Jonny Evans, with the ball going through the hand of Onana and finding the back of the net.

Great comeback win for Arsenal

It was a great comeback win for the Gunners, who trailed early following Marcus Rashford’s goal in the 27th minute.

Arsenal quickly equalised seconds after the restart through Martin Odegaard.

With Rice and Jesus’ goals late in the contest, the Gunners climbed up to fifth place in the Premier League table with 10 points in four games.

They are level on points with rivals Tottenham, Liverpool, and West Ham.

Manchester City are off to another spectacular start, winning each of their first four league matches to grab sole possession of first place with 12 points.

Havertz’s miss goes viral

Sports Brief recently reported on Kai Havertz producing a miss-of-the-season contender in the win against United.

Arsenal’s new signing had a chance to give the Gunners the lead after some brilliant work from Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli.

Havertz got it all wrong, though, with his shot attempt as he produced a horror miss.
