AZ confirmed the signing of the Ghana youth international on Friday, with the winger set to begin his career in the Netherlands after joining his new teammates.

"Ibrahim Sadiq can officially call himself an AZ player. The Ghanaian attacker comes over from BK Häcken and signs a contract in Alkmaar until mid-2028. Sadiq was born 23 years ago in Accra, Ghana. Via the Right to Dream Academy, the attacker ended up at FC Nordsjælland from Denmark in the summer of 2018," wrote the club on their official website.

Sadiq, who spent a year and a half at BK Hacken, scored 37 goals and provided 11 assists in 56 appearances for the Swedish club. He also won the League and Cup double last season.

According to the Right to Dream Academy graduate, the move to AZ Alkmaar is a dream come true.

"It's a great stadium. These are stadiums you want to play in. It's like a dream come true for me. AZ really wanted me. That also gives a good feeling," he said.

The former Black Starlets winger started his career in Europe at FC Nordsjaelland in 2018 before moving to Hacken in 2022, as reported by Transfermarkt.

Sadiq inspires Hacken to Cup success

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Sadiq scored a brace to lead BK Hacken to Swedish Cup success after they beat Mjallby in the final.

The Ghanaian youngster scored twice in the space of three minutes to give his side a two-goal lead before half-time.

Mikkel Rygaard and Samuel Gustafson scored after the break to extend the Wasps' lead.
