Ghana Women's Premier League champions, Ampem Darkoa Ladies have won the WAFU Zone B championship after beating Nigeria's Delta Queens in the final in Benin City.

The Ghanaian champions have also sealed a place in the CAF Women's Champions League following their triumph in Nigeria, becoming the second team from the West African nation to achieve that feat.

Having placed second in the tournament last year, Ampem Darkoa Ladies went a step further to clinch the title in a thrilling contest on Thursday night.

Ophelia Amponsah's first half goal was enough for the Ghanaian side to emerge victorious, per footydreams.com.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies started the tournament by dispatching Ivorian side Athletico FC d'Abidjan and Academie Amis du Monde of Togo in the group stage.

They went on to thrash Benin's Sam Nelly in the semi-finals to book a date with the hosts Delta Queens in the final.

Forward Mary Amponsah ended the competition as the top scorer with eight goals while midfielder Nancy Amoh was adjudged the best player in the final, as reported by GHANASoccernet.

Ampem Darkoa will await winners from the other zones for the CAF Women's Champions League later this year.

Hasaacas Ladies arrive after CAF Women's CL

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Hasaacas Ladies have arrived in Ghana after two weeks in Egypt for the CAF Women's Champions League.

The Ghanaian club finished second after a defeat to South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns in the finals last Friday.

In photos posted on Twitter, the players, technical team and management members are seen leaving the Kotoko International Airport.

Evelyn Badu wins Golden Boot award

Hasaacas Ladies star forward, Evelyn Badu, has won the Golden Boot at the just ended CAF Women's Champions League in Egypt.

The Ghanaian forward netted five goals to win the Golden Boot and be adjudged the Player of the Tournament.
