He came off the bench in his first league game against the New York Red Bulls to score the team's second goal, and the goal was awarded MLS goal of the week as voted for by fans on Twitter.

According to the Miami Herald, his home debut ended Miami's winning streak of nine games since his arrival, and it was the first time he did not make an attacking contribution.

Mayweather witnesses Messi's home debut

The 2022 World Cup winner has been attracting American celebrities since his first game against Cruz Azul, including LeBron James, Kim Kardashian, and Tom Brady.

His latest celebrity guests were MLB legend Ken Griffey Jr. and boxing legend Floyd 'Money' Mayweather. They were at the DRV PNK Stadium to witness his MLS home debut, but unfortunately, it was his quietest game in pink.

Griffey, who is also a sports photographer, worked pitchside, taking shots of the Argentina captain, while Mayweather, who retired with an unbeaten record of 50 wins in 50, was in the stands.

Messi and Miami made their dream of reaching the playoffs even more difficult after a 0-0 draw against their Leagues Cup final opponent, Nashville.

LeBron James acknowledges Messi's greatness

Sports Brief reported that LeBron James acknowledged Messi's greatness after watching his Inter Miami debut against Cruz Azul live at the DRV PNK Stadium.

James was in the stadium alongside other American sports personalities and celebrities, including Serena Williams, Tom Brady, and Kim Kardashian, and shared a passionate moment with Messi before kickoff.

After the game, he took to his social media pages to welcome the 36-year-old to the US and expressed joy at beholding greatness, to which the football superstar responded.
