He came off the bench in his first league game against the New York Red Bulls to score the team's second goal, and the goal was awarded MLS goal of the week as voted for by fans on Twitter.
According to the Miami Herald, his home debut ended Miami's winning streak of nine games since his arrival, and it was the first time he did not make an attacking contribution.
