- He scored a brace as Bayern Munich beat Augsburg for a second straight win this season
- Kane became the third Bayern player to score thrice in his first three Bundesliga games
Harry Kane has taken a few games to settle in at Bayern Munich and is already firing on all cylinders.
The Englishman bagged a brace to help his team record their second straight Bundesliga win of the 2023/24 season against Augsburg.
The reigning Bundesliga champions won 3-1, with Kane scoring Bayern's third and fourth after Augsburg defender, Felix Uduokhai, inadvertently turned in Leroy Sane’s effort.
The Englishman's first goal came from a penalty after a VAR check for Niklas Dorsch's handball. The striker stepped up and buried the penalty.
Kane scored his second of the night in the second half, firing past goalkeeper, Finn Dahmen, to seal the win for Bayern. They now have six points from two games.
Kane makes history in Bundesliga
With the brace on Sunday, Kane became the first English player to score in his first two Bundesliga games.
In three games with Bayern, he has scored three goals, all of them in the German league, per Transfermarkt. If he continues like this, he could win the Golden Boot in his first season in Germany.
Moreover, the 30-year-old is only the third FC Bayern player to have scored three goals in his first two Bundesliga appearances - after Gustav Jung in 1967 and Adolfo Valencia in 1993.
Kane completed his move to Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur weeks ago, following months of speculation regarding his future.
The Bavarians paid €100 million for his services and he is seen as a replacement for club legend, Robert Lewandowski, who joined Barcelona last summer.
