FootballMan Who Jumped on Erling Haaland During Man City Celebrations Is an Ex Pro Fighter
- The fan who jumped Erling Haaland was not a random bloke, it has been revealed
- Haaland missed a penalty against Sheffield United but made up for it early in the second half with a goal
- Among the first people to celebrate with him was a pitch invader, who has now been identified
The identity of the pitch invader who emphatically jumped on Erling Haaland after the striker scored the first goal for Manchester City on Sunday, August 27, has been revealed.
Haaland was once again the man of the hour for City as he opened the scoring against Sheffield United with a header from Jack Grealish’s cross.
The striker initially had a nonchalant celebration, but that quickly changed after a pitch invader jumped on him to celebrate the goal before other Man City players arrived.
It has now been revealed that the fan, who wore a black T-shirt, is a former British pro fighter, Terry Flanagan.
Flanagan, 34, was reportedly very good at what he did and held the WBO lightweight title between 2015 and 2017.
In his 38 fights, he only lost twice, and recorded 14 Kos, according to The Sun.
Because of his background in competitive sport, it comes as no surprise that he was over the moon when a team he supports excited him so much with a goal against a newly-promoted side.
The goal was particularly relieving since Haaland missed a penalty earlier in the game as he struck the upright.
In the midst of the celebrations, Flanagan jumped from the stands and onto the pitch, launching himself at the former Borussia Dortmund man. He also appeared to kiss Haaland’s neck, but the striker played it cool.
City winger Bernardo Silva, however, appeared to be taken aback by the pitch invader, who had a few more seconds with the City players before getting tackled by stewards.

FootballTeams Haaland hasn’t scored against
Sports Brief also reported on the three teams Erling Haaland is yet to score against after adding Sheffield United to his list of ‘victims’.
The striker has proven to be a revelation since his arrival at the Premier League last season, although three Premier League sides have managed to keep him out.
Chelsea is among those teams.
