Top football stars have been flocking to the Saudi Pro League (SPL) this year, and it was Cristiano Ronaldo who paved the way for the likes of Karim Benzema, Sadio Mane, and Riyad Mahrez.

However, moving to Saudi Arabia can be challenging for some. A new environment brings new challenges, like a language barrier but in a recent video, Ronaldo seems to be getting the hang of it after spending the last few months in the country.

Al-Nassr recently posted a video of Ronaldo energetically sending greetings to fans using the traditional Arabic greeting of Salam Alaikum. After saying that, he broke into a smile as he walked away, perhaps impressed by himself for speaking Arabic.

The Ronaldo family have also been seen on video trying to speak language. His daughter was recently seen reciting some Arabic in a wholesome moment.

The Portuguese veteran seems to be enjoying life in Saudi Arabia and won his first trophy with Al-Nassr earlier this month. His team overcame the odds to lift their first-ever Arab Club Champions Cup, with the striker scoring a brace as they beat Al-Hilal 2-1 in extra time.

Ronaldo has scored 14 goals in 21 appearances for Al-Nassr, per Transfermarkt.

Ronaldo speaks Arabic for the first time

Sports Brief also reported that in February, the Portuguese veteran was spotted in a clip speaking Arabic for what appears to be the first time since moving to the Middle East.

During an interview, Ronaldo uttered the Arabic word 'Shukran', which means 'thank you'. He already speaks four languages and could add Arabic to these sooner than later.

Ronaldo wins first Al-Nassr trophy

Sports Brief also reported on Ronaldo winning his first trophy with Al-Nassr as his new team went on to claim the Arab Club Champions Cup recently.

He singlehandedly won the competition for the Knights of Najd after netting a brace in the final to inspire his team to a comeback victory over Al-Hilal.
