FootballMan United Fans Say the Same Thing as 'injured' Mount Set to Be out Until After International Break
- Mason Mount featured in both of Manchester United’s opening two games
- The midfielder will, however, miss the clash against Nottingham Forest after picking up an injury
- It is highly likely Mount will only be back after the international break
Manchester United will have to face Nottingham Forest without the services of their summer signing, Mason Mount.
The former Chelsea man, who moved to Old Trafford for £60million, has struggled with his performances as a Manchester United player, and has at times looked lost in the famous Red shirt.
Against Tottenham Hotspur, Mount was once again below par, as was the rest of the squad in the 2-0 defeat.
He played 85 minutes in the Tottenham game, before getting replaced by Facundo Pellistri.
United released a statement on Tuesday, August 22, confirming that their star midfielder had sustained an injury in the Saturday game, and would subsequently miss the clash against Nottingham Forest.
"Mason Mount is set to miss Saturday’s game against Nottingham Forest due to an injury picked up in last weekend’s encounter with Tottenham Hotspur," a statement on the club website read.
"The small complaint is expected to keep Mount out until the international break next month."
Fan reaction
On social media, fans, presumably those affiliated with Manchester United, felt Mount's injury was a blessing in disguise.
@UTDRiddler said:
"This was a perfectly timed injury. After all of the criticism he's been subjected to, he probably needs a break from the scrutiny."
@UTDLars added:
"Honestly might be a blessing in disguise, this midfield trio was NOT working"
While @justkency joked:
"He is not injured. I think Ten Hag was like F this. I have had enough of this guy."
@Elliotcute said:
"What God can’t do doesn’t exit my stubborn manager will be forced to make that change now."

FootballMount angers United fans
Sports Brief also reported on how Mason Mount angered Manchester United fans with his antics at full-time after the defeat to Tottenham.
It came as a surprise to many Manchester United fans when Mount was spotted laughing with new Tottenham signing James Maddison at full-time, and they made their feelings known online.
