One of the hottest debates on social media is whether Harry Kane can be considered among the greatest strikers of all time, despite not having won a trophy before.

As exclusively reported by The Athletic's David Ornstein, Tottenham have agreed on a deal in principle with Bayern Munich after a fifth proposal worth over £86 million was tabled.

The transfer is now subject to Kane agreeing on the move, after initially communicating to the German champions that he would not make the move once the season had begun.

Reactions to Kane's impending move

According to BBC Sports, Kane is both England and Tottenham's all-time top scorer, but his lack of trophies has made many fans overlook his achievements.

The news that he could be on his way to Bayern, who have won the Bundesliga for an impressive 11 seasons in a row, provoked bittersweet reactions online.

@mario9jaa tweeted:

"Finally getting some trophies to his name. Poor lad."

@AbzSemtex wrote:

"He might actually win a trophy."

@47kasz tweeted:

"Finally, he should go win trophies.. happy for this man."

@NeroMajors replied:

"If he chooses to stay at Tottenham then something is definitely wrong with him."

@jabarzee tweeted:

"Kane can actually do 50 league goals in the Bundesliga next season lol."

The 30-year-old could decide to remain in England, as he is only 47 goals away from breaking Alan Shearer's record of all-time top scorer.

Toure advises Kane on transfer

Sports Brief previously reported on former Manchester City, Yaya Toure giving advice to Kane as the Englishman enters a crucial stage of his career in what could be his final move.

The Ivorian midfielder is opposed to the striker leaving North London and feels that retiring at Tottenham and achieving legendary status like Paolo Maldini is the better choice.
