Jude Bellingham is enjoying a great start to his Real Madrid career, but the midfielder seems to have angered the fans of his former employers, Borussia Dortmund, with his comments.
Bellingham has scored three goals in his first two La Liga games for Los Blancos, prompting the midfielder to claim the level at Real Madrid is high, which was seen as a jibe by BVB fans.
According to Fansided, Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl does not think that Bellingham was being critical of Borussia Dortmund with his comments about the high standards at Real Madrid.
“I don’t think the statement was meant as a criticism of Borussia Dortmund or of his time with us until the summer. I know that he was not 100 percent fit in the last few months and had problems with his knee. These problems are now over.
“I’m still in contact with Jude, we’ve always had a very respectful relationship.”
Bellingham made 132 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, scoring 24 goals and assisting a further 25 before wrapping up one of the biggest moves in the summer to Real Madrid worth a whopping €103mil.
