Football"He Was Very Good": Bournemouth Manager Lavish Praises on Semenyo After Netting First Goal
- Ghana striker Antoine Semenyo has netted his first goal of the season

- AFC Bournemouth lost to Liverpool in the second game of the season
Bournemouth manager, Andoni Iraola, is full of praise for Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo following his performance against Liverpool on Saturday.
The Black Stars striker scored the opening goal as the Cherries suffered a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.
Semenyo was making a return from an injury that kept him out of the latter stages of last season, and Ghana's AFCON qualifier against Madagascar.
Despite the loss, Iraola singled out the hardworking striker for his display against the English giants and hopes Semenyo will keep scoring as the season progresses.
"Antoine was good last week. I think the minutes he played, he gave good energy to the team. Today also, he pushed a lot, he finished very tired and that is what we expect from our wingers and our forwards, to give everything they can," he said in the post-match presser.
The 23-year-old joined AFC Bournemouth in January from Bristol City, and has since been a regular member of the team, helping them survive the drop under Gary O'neil, as reported by transfermarkt.
His return to action is good news for the Black Stars ahead of the AFCON qualifier against the Central African Republic in September.
Salah breaks Gerrard's record
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Mohamed Salah achieved a unique milestone with his goal for Liverpool against Bournemouth on Saturday, August 19 as he climbed up the charts in the club’s all-time top goal scorers’ list.
Liverpool went into the game looking for their first win of the season after a 1-1 draw against Chelsea in their opening league game.
Jurgen Klopp’s men got off to the worst possible start as they were behind just three minutes into the game as the visitors took a shock lead through Antoine Semenyo.
