Barcelona are eager to bring Joao Felix on board this summer and have intensified their negotiations with Atletico Madrid for the wantaway forward.
The Portuguese star is keen to exit Atletico, and Los Rojiblancos are keen to remove his wages, with him out of the starting team, as Barcelona has shown serious interest in his signature.
According to SB Nation, Barcelona are seeking to get Felix on a season-long loan that will require the Catalan club to pay a fee €8mil for the 23-year-old forward.
The completion of the deal would also be subject to Financial Fair Play, and Barcelona would add an option to buy into the deal for next summer if the loan spell is successful.
Felix earned the wrath of Atletico Madrid fans after he spoke of his desire to join Barcelona, prompting some supporters to destroy his plaque at the club.
Atletico holding firm on demands
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid will not budge on their demands for Joao Felix as the La Liga club has insisted, they will not accept making a loss on the Portuguese forward this year, Football Espana reports.
Los Rojiblancos want Felix’s wages and the amortisation from his transfer fee covered as they are open to various formulas regarding options and obligations to buy.
This means Barcelona would have to offer Felix’s full wages plus the amortisation fee reported to be worth around €15mil if they are keen on signing the forward on loan this season.
