Riyad Mahrez scored a stunning half-volley to open his goal-scoring account in the Saudi Pro League as Al Ahli defeated Al-Khaleej on Thursday night to go top of the table.
Having joined Al Ahli from Manchester City in the summer transfer window, the Algerian is already enjoying life in the Gulf after providing an assist in his first game before scoring in his second match.
Mahrez doubled his side's lead before halftime to add to Roger Ibanez's early opener.
In a video shared on social media, Mahrez who started the attack, finished off brilliantly with a right-footed half volley.
Al-Khaleej pulled one back with 13 minutes remaining from a powerful header of Mansour Hamzi, but Al Ahli restored their two-goal advantage following a late strike from Sumaihan Al-Nabet, who dummied his marker from an Allan Saint-Maximin assist.
"First game, first assist and first win. The perfect start thank you for the welcome and the huge atmosphere, can't wait for the next ones already," wrote Mahrez on Twitter after his debut.
The former Leicester City forward and his teammates have been given a two-day rest after their victory over Al-Khaleej, as stated by Al Ahli.

Meanwhile, Riyad Mahrez has congratulated his former teammates at Manchester City for making history following their UEFA Super Cup victory.
The UEFA Champions League winners defeated Sevilla on penalties to win their first-ever European Super Cup.
Mahrez, a member of the team that won the treble last season, was monitoring the game from his new base in Saudi Arabia.
