Morocco goalkeeper, Yassine 'Bono' Bounou, has completed his move to Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal from Spanish outfit Sevilla in the summer transfer window.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup star signed a three-year deal to move to the Gulf after a successful career in Spain.

Bono made his last appearance for Sevilla in the European Super Cup final, a game the Europa League winners lost on penalties to Manchester City.

In a farewell video, Sevilla compiled some of Bono's most memorable moments, including his penalty saves in the final of last season's Europa League.

The La Liga giants pledged to give him a befitting farewell in the near future for his services to the club.

"Bono will have an official farewell ceremony in the near future, when possible. Sevilla FC thanks Bono for his work and performance in this stage that is closing and wishes him the best of luck in this new future that is opening up for him. Thanks Bono!," wrote the club on their official website.

Bono was officially unveiled as Al Hilal's latest signing on Thursday and will join Neymar Jnr for their next game in the Saudi Pro League.

Bono wins top award in Spain

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Morocco and Sevilla shot-stopper Yassine Bounou scooped home the Zamora Trophy following the completion of the 2021-22 La Liga season.

Bounou edged La Liga winner and Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to the individual accolade on the back of his impressive displays in between the sticks for Sevilla in the just-ended campaign.

His latest feat makes him the second African to have won the top goalkeeping diadem in Spain after legendary Cameroon custodian Jacques Celestin Songo'o, who won the award in the 1996-1997 season with Deportivo de La Coruña.

Neymar explains Al Hilal move

Neymar Junior has explained the reasoning behind his unconventional yet bold decision to exchange the European football scene for the riches of Saudi Arabia.

The 31-year-old completed a groundbreaking transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to Al-Hilal on August 15 and his unveiling ceremony is scheduled for later this week.

Under the terms of his new agreement, the former Barcelona forward has secured a two-year contract that is anticipated to yield an annual income of approximately $100 million.
