Neymar Jr.’s six-year spell with the French champions Paris Saint-Germain came to an abrupt end as the Brazilian finalized his move to the Saudi Pro League powerhouse Al Hilal.

The 31-year-old indeed envisioned a more favourable departure from the club he joined in the summer of 2017 for a staggering world-record fee of ₤222 million. Reports have surfaced indicating that he was no longer in the club’s immediate plans, leaving him with seemingly no choice but to pursue an exit.

Several PSG stars have extended their well-wishes to him as he embarks on his new journey. However, the words of 22-year-old summer signing Lee Kang-in have particularly captured the attention of many observers.

Lee Kang-in’s message to Neymar

The former Mallorca attacker, who joined PSG this summer, appeared to have built a strong bond with the Brazilian superstar. Footage has emerged of the pair sharing jokes and having laughs in the loveliest manner during training sessions, and it came with little surprise to many the content of the youngster’s wishes to the Brazilian.

Posting on his Instagram story and as quoted by PSG Report, the forward said:

It was a short time, but it was very special for me,” Lee wrote on his Instagram story. “Thank you very much, and I wish you the best.”

Neymar took little time to respond to the PSG midfielder on his Instagram story and was quoted by PSG Report to have provided a response that made many emotional.

“Just a little time … but you already have a place in my heart,” Neymar wrote. “See you later son.”

During his stint with PSG, Neymar made over 173 appearances, scoring 118 goals and recording 77 assists.

While the Brazilian could not help the French club clinch their highly coveted UEFA Champions League crown, Neymar led PSG to many domestic titles during his time there.

The Brazilian will join his new teammates as they prepare for their upcoming fixture against Al-Feiha on August 19.

Neymar speaks on quitting PSG

Sports Brief also reported on Neymar revealing why he left PSG with his bold decision to exchange the European football scene for the riches of Saudi Arabia.

He stated he was propelled by his aspiration to become a ‘global player’, with his focus said to be on personal growth outweighing monetary considerations.

Additionally, Neymar highlighted his hunger for ‘novel challenges and fresh prospects in different locales’ as more motivation for joining the Saudi Pro League.
