Lionel Messi is coming to Chester, Pennsylvania, and Philadelphia Union fans already can’t contain their excitement for the once-in-a-lifetime event.
Inter Miami will face Philadelphia this coming Tuesday, with the Argentine star expected to start in the Leagues Cup semifinal clash.
Tickets for the match sold out in minutes, and now fans will have to pay top dollar to see one of the greatest players of all time take the field in person.
Messi tickets immediately sold out
Tickets for the Inter Miami game went on sale last Saturday at 2 p.m., per ABC.
Eight minutes later, the Union delivered the following message:
"Tuesday's match at Subaru Park is officially sold out of seats. A limited number of standing-room-only tickets remain."
According to SeatGeek, the official ticket marketplace for Philadelphia Union, the lowest price available for the upcoming match featuring the 2022 World Cup hero is $422.
Messi's on fire for Miami
Messi has lived up to the hype since arriving in the United States, scoring in each of his first five matches for the Herons.
He opened his account in Inter Miami’s 2-1 win over Cruz Azul, scoring an incredible free kick in the 94th minute.
He continued his excellent form in the game against Atlanta United, scoring twice in the opening 22 minutes to lead Inter Miami to a 4-0 win.
The 36-year-old remained hot in the matches against Orlando City and FC Dallas, registering doubles in each of those knockout games.
He then completed the 4-0 rout against Charlotte FC in the quarterfinals, scoring in the 86th minute to continue his goal spree.
