The Argentine superstar gave Inter Miami a 4-0 lead in their Leagues Cup match against Charlotte FC, scoring with a close-range strike in the 86th minute.
Leonardo Campana found Messi with a cross after the latter made a great run inside the box.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner hit a first-time shot past the Charlotte FC goalkeeper to complete the rout for the Herons.
Messi is on fire
He has now scored in each of his first five matches for Inter Miami, dating back to his debut against Cruz Azul as a substitute on July 21.
He sent fans into a frenzy in that game, scoring a superb freekick deep in the 94th minute to give Inter Miami a 2-1 victory.
He then registered doubles in his next three starts, scoring braces against Atlanta United, Orlando City, and FC Dallas.
Inter Miami cruise to victory
Josef Martinez opened the scoring for Inter Miami in their win against Charlotte FC, netting a penalty in the 12th minute.
Robert Taylor doubled their lead in the 32nd minute, sweeping home a low shot past the Charlotte FC goalkeeper from the center of the penalty area, per ESPN.
Messi played a part in that goal as his run into the box took the attention of multiple Charlotte FC defenders.
DeAndre Yedlin took full advantage, finding a wide-open Taylor with his pass.
Taylor has now scored four goals for Inter Miami since teaming up with Messi.

FootballAdilson Malanda then scored an own goal for Charlotte FC in the 78th minute, diverting Diego Gomez's cross into the back of his own net to make it 3-0 for Inter Miami.
