Cristiano Ronaldo jets out in style to new club Al-Nassr
FootballAl Shorta Player Gives Brutal Caption to Photo With Ronaldo to Settle GOAT Debate
- Al-Nassr beat Al-Shorta 1-0 to reach the Arab Club Champions Cup final
- Cristiano Ronaldo scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot
- The Portuguese granted a photo session to one Al-Shorta player, who used it against him
Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most influential footballers in the world. It is safe to call him a celebrity of celebrities, evident in how opponents have queued for photos since he moved to Saudi Arabia.
Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in January after his Manchester United contract was mutually terminated following an explosive interview with British broadcaster Piers Morgan.
The interview criticised every element of the club, particularly the owners, the Glazer family, whom he accused of only being concerned about money and not caring for the club.
He signed football's most expensive contract with an annual salary of £177m to join the Riyadh-based club and has been their captain and star forward since the move.
Al-Shorta player settles GOAT debate
Arab News reported that Ronaldo scored from the penalty spot in the 75th minute after Sadio Mane was fouled to send Al-Nassr to the Arab Club Champions Cup final, where they will play Al-Hilal in the final today.
Al Shorta winger Ahmed Zero approached the 38-year-old for a photo which he gladly granted, but what happened afterwards was one nobody expected.
As first spotted by ESPN FC, Zero uploaded the photo on Instagram. He captioned it "with the second-best player in history", a direct jibe at the Portuguese superstar and a credit to his eternal rival Lionel Messi.
The unending debate on who is the greatest footballer of all time between the two superstars is one many sporting personalities have dropped their take on, but Zero's style is a new one.
Nadal stylishly settles GOAT debate
Sports Brief previously reported that Rafael Nadal stylishly settled the GOAT debate, mixing honesty with some bit of diplomacy due to his association.
The tennis star picked Messi as the best but added that he should probably not have said anything because he is a Real Madrid fan, the club Ronaldo played at for nine years.
