FootballGuardiola Drops Priceless Reaction After He Learns Harry Kane Could Join Bayern Munich
- Harry Kane's potential move to Bayern Munich has gripped the whole football world
- Pep Guardiola was left shocked after he learnt of the developments of the deal
- Kane is expected to sign a four-year contract and take the number 9 shirt
Pep Guardiola was left speechless after he learnt there was a likelihood that Harry Kane could join Bayern Munich this summer.
Kane has dominated transfer headlines, with Bayern Munich refusing to give up on the English talisman as they seek to fill the big shoes left by Robert Lewandowski.
Tottenham Hotspur have played hardball all summer before news eventually broke out that they had agreed a fee of more than 100 million euros with the Bundesliga giants. All that was left was for Kane to agree to the move.
Addressing journalists ahead of their Premier League opener against Burnley on August 11, Guardiola was asked to comment on the deal that would see the 30-year-old join his former club.
Guardiola's reaction to Kane news
The Spanish tactician was caught unawares and his reaction was priceless as he sought to understand if the deal was already official.
He then later heaped glowing praise on the Three Lions' captain, a player he tried to sign for Manchester City two seasons ago.
"Everyone knows his qualities. He is a top, top striker.
“He scores goals and has the ability to assist. He is an exceptional striker. Alan Shearer is the only man in front of him as a top goalscorer," he said, as quoted by Evening Standard.
Kane set to seal Bayern move
Sports Brief has also reported that Harry Kane will finally be a Bayern Munich player after weeks of talks and rejected bids. Tottenham Hotspur have accepted an over €100 million offer from the German champions.
The English club had rejected three bids from Bayern and looked like a deal was not close, but the 30-year-old is set to make the long-awaited switch to the Bundesliga.
The England captain will travel to Germany on Friday to undergo medical tests before signing a four-year contract. He is set to wear the No. 9 shirt.
