FC Nordsjaelland have unveiled their third kit for the 2023/24 season, with the design said to be inspired by Ghanaian culture.

The Danish club have a strong relationship with football in the West African country, with the Right to Dream Academy in Akosombo serving as their feeder team.

Announcing the release of Nordsjaelland's new kit, which was produced by Nike, the Farum-based club picked a popular Ghanaian symbol as a representation of their ideals.

The sign, which is predominant in the Akan tradition, is known as Dwennimmen, which means humility.

FC Nordsjaelland, which has academies in other parts of the world, also picked two more symbols from various cultures to include in the design of the kit.

"The three symbols that adorn the front and neck of the shirt have been chosen by children at the academies and represent our values and talent work across national borders. The first symbol, Dwennimmen, represents the word 'humility', and was chosen by our Ghanaian academy to symbolise the importance of remaining humble," the club wrote on their official website.

The symbol Gebo, which represents 'partnership', was reportedly chosen by the Danish academy to symbolise the team's collaboration across the academy structures.

"The third and final symbol, Ankh, represents the word 'family', and was chosen by our Egyptian Academy to symbolise that we are all one family," added FC Nordsjaelland in their statement.

The jersey will be worn for the first time when the Danish giants travel to Romania to face FCSB in a Europa League qualifier, as reported by UEFA.

FC Nordsjaelland has worked with several Ghanaian talents including Mohammed Kudus and Kamaldeen Suleman.

The Superliga runners-up currently have Ernest Nuamah, Ibrahim Osman, and Enock Otoo in the men's team while Jennifer Cudjoe and Princess Marfo play for the women's team.

Nuamah wins double Superliga award

Sports Brief also reported on Nuamah winning Player of the Month and Young Player for July in the Superliga.

The talented youngster scooped both awards after a sensational start to the new season in Denmark last term.

Nuamah netted a hat-trick as FC Nordsjaelland thrashed Viborg before his side beat AGF in the second game.
