- Chelsea have confirmed their squad numbers for next season
- Mykhailo Mudryk and Enzo Fernandez are among the players with new numbers
- Mudryk ditched the No. 15 shirt he wore last season for No. 10, which fell vacant after Christian Pulisic's departure
Chelsea's squad numbers for next season have been confirmed ahead of the new 2023/24 campaign.
Several shirt numbers had been vacated following the mass exodus witnessed at Stamford Bridge so far this summer.
As many as 25 players quit the club as Mauricio Pochettino embarked on a squad overhaul to kickstart his reign at the West London club.
According to beIN Sports, Mateo Kovacic, Cesar Azpilicuate, Mason Mount, and Kai Havertz headline the long list of senior players who have departed the club.
Others include N'Golo Kante, Edouard Mendy, and Kalidou Koulibaly, who have since moved to Saudi Arabia.
New Chelsea squad numbers
The Sun reports that Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk are among the players who now have different shirt numbers from what they wore last season.
Fernandez has ditched the No. 5 shirt for the No. 8, which fell vacant after Kovacic's move to Manchester City.
On his part, Mudryk has opted for the No. 10, which was worn by Christian Pulisic, with the Ukrainian dumping the No. 15 shirt.
The No. 9 shirt has remained vacant with the general view being that it is 'cursed'.
The shirt was last sported by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who left for Marseille this summer.
The Gabonese could only manage one Premier League goal in 15 appearances during his disastrous spell with the Blues.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has aimed one final dig at Chelsea after ending his miserable one-year spell with the Blues.
The Gabonese striker joined the Blues in the summer of 2022 from Barcelona, with the transfer earning him a stunning return to the Premier League.
Aubameyang left the English top flight in January 2022 after Arsenal cut ties with him following his fallout with Mikel Arteta.
