Saudi club Al Hilal have intensified their chase on Victor Osimhen by offering a fresh lucrative contract for the Napoli striker.
It was gathered the club are focusing their attention on the Nigerian international following the failure to receive an opening from Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe.
Italian club Napoli are not prepared to let the 24-year-old leave this summer as they have been in close contact with the player’s agent Roberto Calenda.
Football Italia reports that Osimhen is yet to agree on a new deal with the Italian champions, and La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the major sticking point in these talks has been the release clause, so no agreement has been reached yet.
According to the outlet, Al Hilal have now offered Osimhen a contract worth €200m in total, although it is unclear if this is a four-year deal at €50m or a five-year offer at €40m net per season.
Asamoah Gyan wants Osimhen at Al Hilal
Meanwhile, Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan is backing Victor Osimhen to make a move to Saudi Arabia after the Napoli star was linked to Al-Hilal.
The Saudi Pro League side made an earlier offer of €140 million for the Nigerian forward, but his club rejected the bid.
The former Black Stars striker, who spent a couple of years in the Middle East playing for Al Ain and Shaba Al Ahli, used a curious emoji which seemed to encourage Osimhen to move to Saudi Arabia.

Sports Brief earlier reported that Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis made it clear that only Paris Saint-Germain can afford to buy Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, who many clubs want this summer.
