FootballWest Ham Target £60M Double Swoop for Man Utd Pair Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay: Reports
- West Ham have lodged separate bids to acquire Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay
- Manchester United have reportedly valued the pair at around £70 million
- The Hammers are looking to bolster their squad after losing to Bayer Leverkusen
West Ham have identified Manchester United pair, Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay as the players they want to add to their squad for the upcoming Premier League season.
They have reportedly launched two separate £30 million bids to entice the United duo away from Old Trafford.
Those amounts fall short, however, of United’s valuation of the pair.
United reject West Ham’s bids
According to Mail Sport, West Ham had a £20 million offer for Maguire rejected by the Red Devils last month, as well as a loan approach for the England defender.
Their latest offer, however, is much closer to Manchester United’s £35 million valuation.
The Hammers have also tabled a bid for McTominay, but their offer for the 26-year-old midfielder falls £15 million short of United's asking price of £45 million.
According to reports, United will not force Maguire and McTominay to leave the club, and the decision is with West Ham if they want to hit the target value for the duo.
Scamacca leaves West Ham
There is greater urgency behind West Ham’s recruitment drive after they suffered a humiliating 4-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen last Saturday, per the BBC.
The Hammers have also lost Italy striker Gianluca Scamacca in the transfer market after the 24-year-old left the club and joined Serie A side Atalanta for an undisclosed fee.
He spent one season with West Ham, having joined the Premier League side on a five-year deal from Sassuolo for £30.5 million last July.
Scamacca made 27 appearances for the Hammers last season. He scored a total of eight goals, five of which came in their title-winning campaign in the Europa Conference League.
