Brighton and Hove Albion have reached an agreement to sign Ghanaian attacking midfielder, Mohammed Kudus in the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old is closing in on a dream move to the English Premier League from Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam.

Kudus is expected to sign a deal worth around €40million, which will make him Brighton's record signing, surpassing the amount paid for Joao Pedro.

According to The Athletic, a deal has been agreed and the talented midfielder is considering personal terms before the move is completed.

The former FC Nordsjaelland star has been one of the best players at Ajax, scoring 18 goals across all competitions last season. He was also Ghana's best player at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, scoring two goals and providing an assist in three matches.

Kudus is interested in taking up a new challenge and Brighton seems to be the right place for the versatile midfielder.

Previously, the Right to Dream Academy graduate was linked with moves to Manchester United and Chelsea, as reported by The Hard Tackle.

However, Brighton lead the race and could complete the move this week barring any last-minute hitches.

Hughton on Kudus EPL interest

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghana's national coach, Chris Hughton, has stated he is not surprised by the number of clubs showing interest in midfielder, Mohammed Kudus.

The Ajax star has reportedly been on the radar of several teams in England, including Manchester United and Chelsea.

Brighton and Hove Albion have also shown interest in the versatile attacking midfielder, who can also play as a forward.

Ghana legend, Asamoah Gyan shared a funny moment with Mohammed Kudus at the Ghana Football Awards, which were held in Accra on Sunday, June 25, 2023.

The Ajax star was named the Ghana Footballer of the Year after an outstanding season with his club and country.

Kudus was the best player for the Black Stars at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, where he scored two goals and provided an assist in three games.
