Fans lined up outside Toyota Stadium hours before the Leagues Cup match between Inter Miami and FC Dallas just to get a glimpse of the Argentine star.
Sunday’s contest is the first away match that Messi will play in the United States since joining Inter Miami.
A video showed supporters of the football icon showing up in droves to see Messi on the road for the first time.
He has been on fire for Inter Miami, scoring five goals in his first three matches.

FootballMessi opened his account on his debut for Inter Miami in their Leagues Cup match against Cruz Azul, scoring a dramatic free kick in second-half stoppage time to give the Herons a 2-1 win.
He then scored a double in his second match for Inter Miami against Atlanta United. He wasted no time adding to his goal tally, netting twice in the game’s opening 22 minutes.
Messi also had an assist in the second half to lead the Herons to a 4-0 victory.
He continued his excellent play in the round of 32 match against Orlando City SC.
Messi opened the scoring in the seventh minute, firing a close-range volley past the Orlando City goalkeeper after a fine pass by Robert Taylor.
He doubled his account in the 72nd minute, scoring another volley inside the box to make it 3-1 for Inter Miami, per ESPN.

FootballSports Brief also reported on Messi reducing an Inter Miami fan to tears while waiting in traffic.
The emotional interaction happened in Florida with the young fan asking the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner to give him a kiss.
Messi obliged, giving his supporter a kiss on the cheek before driving away with his vehicle.
