Barcelona earlier this summer missed out on the signing of Turkish teenage sensation Arda Guler, after reportedly agreeing to a deal to sign the forward.

Having agreed to a deal for Athletico Paranaense’s teenage striker Vitor Roque, the club have beamed its searchlight on another teenage star Noah Darvich whose ability has caught the ability of many at Bundesliga club SC Freiburg.

Barcelona agrees deal for Darvich

Darvich has consistently made waves through the German youth football scenes.

Having moved to the SC Freiburg youth academy in 2017, the versatile attacking midfielder has enjoyed swift progress through the ranks.

The youngster’s performance saw him break into the club’s Under-19 setup, featuring three times last season, with his performances catching Barcelona’s attention.

Reports from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano have it that Barcelona have now reached an agreement to sign the German attacker this summer.

Despite Darvich’s contract expiring next summer, the club has left little to chance so as not to witness a repeat of the Guler situation.

Additionally, Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona will pay a fee in the region of €3 million including variables for the teenage sensation.

Barcelona fans would hope for a repeat of the rapid progress they witnessed with Ansu Fati and Pablo Gavi can be repeated with the German star.

Darvich, who found the back of the net five times in 16 matches for Germany’s Under-17 side, will look to make an impact in the youth ranks at Barcelona, and follow in the footsteps of these famous La Masia talents who have gone on to leave their mark at the club.

Cancelo agrees terms with Barcelona

Sports Brief earlier reported Barcelona could finally get their wish to sign Joao Cancelo after the Manchester City defender agreed to personal terms with the Catalan club ahead of a summer transfer.

The Catalans missed out on the Portugal defender in January after he joined Bayern Munich on loan, despite the Spanish giants being favourites to land him mid-season.
