FootballBayern Munich Submit Club Record Bid for Spurs Striker Harry Kane
- Bayern Munich have submitted a new €100 million bid for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane
- The German champions have been chasing Kane all summer and had two bids rejected
- Kane has one year left on his deal with Spurs
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have submitted an improved bid for their top target Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
They have submitted a club record €100 million with add-ons after their first few bids were rejected.
The England captain has one year left on his current deal with Spurs, and chairman Daniel Levy has been under pressure to sell Kane to avoid losing him for nothing next summer. The 30-year-old reportedly wants his future to be resolved before the new Premier League season kicks off.
According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern's hierarchy expect a quick response from the English club, and their latest offer is final. After a recent meeting, Bayern fell short of Spurs' valuation of Kane. A transfer could reportedly happen quickly if Spurs accept the offer.
The England striker had a phenomenal campaign last season. He scored 30 goals for Spurs, who had a frustrating season as they finished 8th. He is their record goalscorer with 280 goals in 435 appearances. Only Alan Shearer has scored more goals than him in the Premier League era.
Kane's hunt for trophies
Kane has had a brilliant career, but what is missing on his resume are the titles that many of his peers in world football have. Moving to Germany would give him a chance to challenge for the Champions League.
Kane is reportedly willing to negotiate a new deal if he remains and the team makes significant progress under new manager Ange Postecoglou, per Football London.
The most amount Bayern have paid for a player is €80 million for defender Lucas Hernandez in 2019, per Transfermarkt.
Kane warned against joining PSG
In another report, Sports Brief stated Bayern are not the only club keen on landing Kane.
