Former Man City star, Carlos Borges has named Ronaldo as his biggest idol, after completing his £12 million transfer to Dutch club AFC Ajax.

The 19-year-old forward recorded a career-high 29 goals including 11 assists for Manchester City’s Elite Development Squad (EDS) through the 2022/23 season, per reports from Transfermarkt. He soon became a subject of transfer attraction for elite clubs, including West Ham and Ajax, for whom he eventually signed.

Speaking at his unveiling after completing his transfer to Ajax, Borges, as quoted by Madrid Universal, revealed:

"My idol is Cristiano Ronaldo. His mentality, always wanting more and he is still going. He is definitely my idol."

Borges believes he is ready to embark on his new challenge with Ajax, although there have been reports that Man City will retain a buyback clause.

The Portugal under-19 international is also confident he has made the right choice for his career by heading to Amsterdam rather than choosing a move to East London club West Ham United.
