Ghanaian defender Daniel Amartey scored his first goal for Besiktas on his debut as the Turkish giants dumped out KF Tirana from the Europa Conference League.

The 28-year-old needed only ten minutes to announce himself to fans of Besikas after coming off the bench to give them the lead in the 2-0 victory in Albania.

Besiktas progressed to the next stage of the competition 5-1 on aggregate.

With the game barren after the first half, Besiktas coach Senol Gunes replaced Necip Uysal with the Ghanaian after the break.

Ten minutes later, Amartey smashed home from a corner kick to give Besiktas a deserving lead, as reported by GHANASoccernet.

Besiktas were reduced to ten men after ex-West Ham defender Arthur Masuaku was sent off with 23 minutes remaining.

Cameroonian forward, Vincent Aboubakar sealed victory with a stunning volley.

"Amartey joined the team late, he was out of practice. Necip was fine, but he was injured. Amartey played harmoniously efficiently. Onana, Semih, Demir Ege and Umut were also good. The starters and latecomers were generally good," said Gunes after the game, as quoted by the club's website.

Amartey joined the club in the summer transfer window after deciding to leave English club Leicester City.

Amartey opens up on Besiktas move

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Black Stars defender, Daniel Amartey has disclosed that he had to consult former Ghana teammates, Kevin Prince Boateng and Bernard Mensah before joining Besiktas.

The ex-Leicester City centre-back joined the Turkish giants in the summer transfer window on a three-year deal.

Amartey, who won the English Premier League and the FA Cup with Leicester City, is buzzing to make his debut after being named in the squad to face KF Tirana in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers.

Amartey leaves Leicester City

Ghanaian defender, Daniel Amartey has finally left Leicester City after eight seasons with the English Premier League club.

The Black Stars centre-back joined the Foxes in 2016 from Danish side, FC Copenhagen, going on to win the Premier League, the FA Cup, and the Community Shield.

Amartey made over 150 appearances for the King Power Stadium outfit before their relegation to the English Championship at the end of the campaign.
