There is just no stopping Lionel Messi right now.

The Argentine superstar gave Inter Miami an early lead in their Leagues Cup match against Orlando City SC, scoring with a close-range strike in the sixth minute.

Robert Taylor found Messi with a fantastic lob pass after the latter made a great run inside the box.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner controlled the pass with his chest before firing the volley past the Orlando City goalkeeper to give Inter Miami a 1-0 advantage.

Messi doubled his tally in the 72nd minute, striking a volley past Pedro Gallese, this time with his weaker right foot.

He has now scored in each of his first three matches for Inter Miami, dating back to his debut against Cruz Azul as a substitute on July 21.

He sent fans into a frenzy in that contest, scoring a stunning freekick deep into second-half injury time to give Inter Miami a dramatic 2-1 win.

Messi made his first start for the club in their match against Atlanta United and he once again delivered a masterpiece. He scored two goals and recorded one assist in that match, leading Inter Miami to a comprehensive 4-0 victory.

Messi reunites with Barca teammates

Inter Miami's match against Orlando City is highly anticipated as Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba will play together for the first time since their Barcelona days.

They enjoyed plenty of success with the Spanish giants, with the trio even winning the continental treble back in 2015.

Messi moved to the United States last month, and Busquets and Alba soon joined him there to play for Inter Miami, per Eurosport.

Why Alba chose Inter Miami

Sports Brief recently reported on Jordi Alba taking less money to move to Inter Miami.

The Spanish defender revealed in Tuesday’s press conference that he chose to play for David Beckham's team despite getting more lucrative offers from other football clubs.

Alba left the Catalan giants this year after spending 11 seasons with the reigning La Liga champions.
