Move on Tua Tagovailoa; there is a new quarterback in town.

Argentine star, Lionel Messi might be thinking of a career change as he was seen throwing a football during Inter Miami’s practice on Tuesday.

He showed he could be a new member of the Miami Dolphins, launching the ball high up in the air as if he was a signal caller.

American fans will have to reserve their judgment, however, if Messi can be a quarterback, as the object he was throwing in practice was a soccer ball and not the one used in the National Football League.

The funny moment happened just one day before their Leagues Cup match against Orlando City SC.

Messi off to sizzling start

Inter Miami are off to a strong start in this cup competition, winning their first two matches against Cruz Azul and Atlanta United.

Messi played a huge part in those two victories, scoring three goals and dishing out one assist for Inter Miami.

He made his long-awaited debut on July 21, appearing as a substitute in the 53rd minute of their match against Cruz Azul.

He showed his flair for the dramatic in that contest, scoring a free kick deep into second-half injury time to give Inter Miami a 2-1 win over Cruz Azul, per Yahoo Sports.

The 36-year-old continued to light up the scoreboard in the match against Atlanta United, firing a double in the game’s opening 22 minutes to give Inter Miami a 2-0 lead.

He showed he could also do damage with his weaker foot, scoring both goals with his right.

He helped Inter Miami grab a 4-0 lead in the second half, setting up Robert Taylor’s goal in the 53rd minute, per ESPN.

Alba reunites with Messi

Sports Brief recently reported on Jordi Alba taking less money to reunite with Messi and Sergio Busquets at Inter Miami.

The Spanish star revealed in Tuesday’s press conference that he chose to play for Inter Miami despite getting more lucrative offers from other clubs.

Alba is expected to make his debut for Inter Miami this coming Wednesday against Orlando City SC.
