Black Stars coach, Chris Hughton has revealed that midfielder Thomas Partey's place in his team will not be affected by a potential move to the Saudi Pro League.
The Arsenal midfielder has been linked with a move to Al-Hilal following Arsenal's signing of Declan Rice.
However, the Ghana international has shown a desire to stay at the Emirates after an outstanding pre-season with the Gunners.
With the transfer window still open, the 30-year-old could be persuaded to move to the Middle East.
"No [it won’t influence me]," Hughton said on talkSPORT after he was asked if a move to Saudi by Partey will influence his selection.
"Thomas is an experienced player [and he] had a wonderful season at Arsenal last season. Firstly it’s about playing; players that are going to be playing regularly so they keep their fitness, and of course it’s about the league that they are playing in…but it’s about playing and playing regularly," he added.
Partey and his Arsenal teammates have returned to London ahead of the Community Shield clash against Manchester City on Sunday, as reported by the BBC.
Partey given permission to negotiate
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Partey has reportedly been granted permission to start talking with clubs in Saudi Arabia, following interest from the Gulf nation.
The 30-year-old has been strongly linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer. His agent is believed to be exploring interest from Saudi Arabia, with the Gunners ready to cash in on the former Atletico Madrid star.
