FootballHarry Kane: Bayern Munich Far From Meeting Tottenham’s Valuation of England Striker
- Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur are still far apart in their valuation of Harry Kane
- The clubs met on Monday and Bayern are still short of Tottenham's valuation of the striker
- The Bundesliga champions have been eyeing Kane all summer but their bids were rejected
Harry Kane's potential transfer to Bayern Munich will have to wait after the German champions failed to meet the valuation of the England striker, following a meeting between the two clubs on Monday.
Kane has one year left on his contract, and Spurs hope the England captain can stay with the team despite a dismal 2022/23 campaign.
According to the Athletic, the two clubs were €29.2 million apart in their valuation following their meeting in London on Monday. Despite the deadlock, Bayern and Spurs will continue with the discussions.
The German giants made a €70mil bid for the striker, but the English club rejected it. Spurs also rejected Bayern's second bid of €80mil as they value their striker more than €100mil.
The Bundesliga champions are looking to pay a maximum of that amount, including add-ons, for Kane, per Sky Sports.
The England star is reportedly open to a move to Germany. Bayern have never paid €100mil for a player before; the most they have paid is €80mil for Lucas Hernandez in 2019.
Kane, Spurs extending a deal?
Football London reports that Kane is not ready to sign a new deal with the club this summer, but he is willing to extend his deal and remain with Tottenham if they make progress under new manager, Ange Postecoglou.
Bayern manager, Thomas Tuchel, wants to sign the striker but his club will need to convince Daniel Levy to accept the bid.
Moreover, the English side will not want to lose their all-time top scorer for nothing next summer. Therefore, the scene is set for an interesting month.
Kane warned against joining PSG
Transfers: The 5 best signings of the summer window so far
FootballSports Brief earlier reported that Bayern are not the only club keen on landing Kane. Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on securing the signature of the 30-year-old.
However, former Tottenham midfielder, Jamie O'Hara, has advised him against joining PSG, who want to bolster their attack after the departure of Lionel Messi.
Amid the uncertainty surrounding Mbappe's future, the Parisians are keen for more firepower. However, it remains to be seen where the England captain ends up.
