Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold has gone viral for his priceless reaction after he was named the club's vice-captain.

According to The Mirror, Henderson completed his lucrative £700,000 per-week move to the Saudi Pro League, with the switch earning him a reunion with Steven Gerrard.

His exit also brought to an end his 12-year association with the Merseyside club, with whom he won several titles, including the Premier League and the Champions League.

Virgil van Dijk was subsequently named Liverpool's new captain, with Alexander-Arnold listed as his deputy.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's emotional reaction

Liverpool filmed the England international's emotional reaction after he was confirmed as the new vice-captain, with the video going viral.

In the clip, Jurgen Klopp can be seen initially walking past Alexander-Arnold, before taking a step back and placing his hand around the right-back's shoulder to break the news.

The tactician goes on to inform the 24-year-old of his promotion, leaving the football star with emotions written all over his face.

Alexander-Arnold's promotion is a momentous one, given that he came through the ranks at Liverpool's academy before he broke into the first team.

The Reds academy graduate captained the senior side for the first time in 2020.

Mane's move to cost Liverpool

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Sadio Mane is nearing a move to Saudi Arabia Pro League side Al-Nassr, and some details of the transfer will not be good news to his former club Liverpool.

The Senegalese joined Bayern Munich last summer after six years at Anfield and is now set for another move after just a season with the German champions.

The move to Saudi Arabia will earn the Bavarians £34.5m more than they paid Liverpool a year ago for the transfer of the former Southampton forward.
