Jurgen Klopp has finally responded to rumours linking Kylian Mbappe with a sensational summer move to Liverpool.

Mbappe has emerged as the subject of intense transfer speculation, with reports claiming he is on his way out of Paris Saint-Germain.

The Frenchman was initially reportedly handed a mammoth deal to move to Saudi Arabian side, Al-Hilal.

According to Sky Sports, the Saudi club tabled a record-breaking offer worth £259 million to land the highly-rated France international.

However, the deal failed to see the light of day, with reports claiming the PSG ace turned down the lucrative deal.

Klopp speaks on Mbappe links

The World Cup-winning star has since been linked with a sensational move to the Premier League, with Liverpool believed to be among the destinations.

However, Sportbible reports that Klopp has poured cold water on the chances of the transfer happening, citing the club's financial crunch.

"We laugh about it. I can say that I think he's a really good player, but the financial conditions don't suit us at all," Klopp commented on the Mbappe links.

The German manager said that while he did not want to 'ruin the story', he was not aware of any truth to it.

"It's possible that someone else from the club is preparing something and wants to surprise me. But that hasn't happened in the eight years that I've been here," he added.
