  • Paris Saint-Germain expect Real Madrid to make a late effort to sign Kylian Mbappe
  • The 24-year-old French forward has been a long-term target for the Spanish giants
  • Mbappe is in the final year of his PSG contract and could leave for free next summer

Paris Saint-Germain believes Spanish giants, Real Madrid, will submit an 'unacceptable' bid for wantaway forward, Kylian Mbappe, near the transfer deadline.

The Ligue 1 champions have put the 24-year-old forward up for sale after he refused to extend his deal, which is set to expire at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

According to the Daily Mirror, PSG thinks Real Madrid will try to snap Mbappe up cheaply as the forward is eager to leave and join up with 14-time Champions League winners.

The Parisians are open to accepting serious offers for the 2022 World Cup Golden Boot winner but were left frustrated after Mbappe refused to negotiate with Al-Hilal, despite the Saudi Pro League side tabling a world-record bid for him.

Mbappe has been a long-term target for Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, and PSG already feels the striker has a pre-agreement to join Los Blancos when his contract in France expires.

PSG backs Liverpool for Mbappe

Meanwhile, PSG are keen to agree a deal with Liverpool for Mbappe to join the English Premier League giants this summer on loan, rather than lose him for free, Daily Express reports.

The Reds had recently opened talks over a surprise loan move for the 24-year-old, which would allow him to play regular football in England before joining Real Madrid the next year.

Mbappe, on the other hand, is reportedly still keen on joining Real Madrid - either now or when his contract expires next summer, and seems unwilling to join any other club as a result.

Real Madrid fans want Mbappe

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that after suffering a humiliating defeat against Barcelona, fans issued a passionate plea for Real Madrid to sign Mbappe.

The Spanish giants have been open about their interest in signing the talented forward, as they missed out on securing his services two seasons ago.

Throughout this summer, continuous rumours have linked Mbappe with a possible transfer to Madrid, fuelled by his contract with PSG expiring next year.
