- Ousmane Dembele’s future remains up in the air
- The forward has reportedly rejected Barcelona’s latest contract offer
- PSG are reported to have agreed a transfer for the Barcelona forward
Barcelona could be losing one of their finest stars this summer after their latest contract offering to the forward was rejected.
Ousmane Dembele has just one year left on his contract and looks set to depart the Catalan club, with reports suggesting he has agreed to a verbal contract with French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Barcelona are keen on keeping Dembele and want to convince the forward to accept a renewal.
Amidst the contract standoff between both parties, RAC1 reports that Dembele wants an annual salary increase between €6-7 million. It should also be noted that Dembele was earlier reported by Fabrizio Romano to have a verbal agreement with PSG.
PSG target Dembele
French champions Paris Saint-Germain are on the lookout to strengthen their attack as they look to put the woes of the 2022/23 campaign behind them.
The French giants appear to have their sights set on Dembele, who the club’s hierarchy have deemed fit to help bolster their attack, considering the void left by the departure of Lionel Messi. This void could become even bigger with the exit of star forward, Kylian Mbappe.
The French club have also sent a formal letter to inform Barcelona of their agreement with the forward.
According to reports from Marca, the French forward has a €50 million release clause in his current contract – a figure which would rise to over €100 million come 1st August.
Barcelona are aggrieved by the latest development around Dembele’s future and will reportedly go to UEFA and demand PSG’s compliance with FFP regulations.

FootballEarlier, Sports Brief reported Barcelona are desperate to keep Dembele at the Spanish side for a few more seasons.
The French attacker’s contract expires at the end of the 2024 season, but he currently has a €50 million release clause.
